BBC Daily and Sunday politics, the Marr show and special party conference and budget programming. The Brexit toxins were deep in the BBC- See also John Hunprys, David Dimbleby etc

Hell would have frozen over before an independent scotland would have been admitted to the EU if it left the UK while the UK was an eu member. There is no fucking way that the other EU countries would allow that. If you allow one region to break away and form its own country and join the EU, you'd have dozens of them. Literally every rich province in Europe would use it as an excuse to cut itself free of its poorer neighbours, and every set of local government shysters would fancy themselves as global statesmen, with the increased opportunity for doing the dirt that this entails.

Guess which two Cabinet ministers are attacking HMRC for collecting tax on donations to the referendum campaign?

We are sliding into autocracy. The slimy cunty bastards. Seriously, does no one have any serious dirt on Gove? He looks like he’d be up to furtive badness, let’s just bring it out into the light

Gove is too much of a lightweight to have any serious dirt.

Tax grab. Fucking goons. Live seven years and it washes out of their estates anyway. It's not like this hasn't been a basic principle of Inheritance Tax since 1984 or anything.

And as for that loathsome Banks complaining about the establishment, well, all outsiders are richer than Solomon with the ear of Cabinet Ministers and MP sons of former editors of The Times.

The Swiss President calls for a referendum on "its relationship" with the EU, which sounds rather vague:

                          It is vague.

No one has yet proposed an idea of what the question would be, and it is difficult to see how it would have an impact on the current unpleasantness over stock exchange reciprocity either way.

what is the story with stock exchange reciprocity? the link in that story was to a paywall? And why is everyone so suddenly surprised that the EU ties access to the single market and such things with the political side of things. The idea that the two can be separate is nonsense.

The Swiss want their exchanges to be considered as equivalent to those in the EU, which would faciliate the offering of financial products listed on those exchanges to EU citizens.

The EU is currently offering them only a one year deal, which the Swiss see as an attempt to gain leverage in the parties' broader framework negotiations.

The Swiss should be paying attention to Cake related issues.

It's part of a powerplay by EU to push the ratification by Switzerland of a simplified agreement with greater control on the relation by ECJ. The multilicity of bilateral agreements has been a cause of concern for EU and with Brexit they want to show that route is not on the table anymore.

The referendum call is for something that has been coming for a while and the govt has been sitting on it for years.

Portes has got it into his head that because the rate of influx produces what he perceives to be a statistically insignificant number it can't possibly have a profound societal impact. Tell that to citizens of Rotherham.

They are willfully ignoring what they agreed to in “phase 1” over Ireland again. I’m sure Gove will be bigging this shit up in Cabinet. Will Cavan bastards need to pay a tenner to go to fucking Neury? Sure the GFA is only a piece of paper anyways.

Set them all on fire. Scatter their bones as fertilizer for the new Autarchy breadbasket.
