I hope someone stands up to challenge her for speaker. If not, the party will just coast along and learn nothing.

Kim Davis (bitch-troll Kentucky clerk who refused to issue a marriage license to two gay guys gay people, after it was made legal, and went to prison for it) loses her job.Last edited by Gerontophile; 07-11-2018, 05:45.

2020 has a better map for Democrats.
Straight up: 20 Republicans, 12 Democrats, and whoever wins in Mississippi's special election.
Democrats will probably lose Doug Jones's seat in Alabama, but the rest are *relatively* secure in a strongish blue year.
Good pick up changes in: Colorado and Maine
Moderate pick up chances (but remember how things played out this year) in: Arizona, Iowa, North Carolina
Real stretch chances in: Alaska, Georgia, maybe Texas.
It's better, but there's very little low-hanging fruit like North Dakota and Missouri were for Republicans this year. I very much doubt we'll see a Democratic senate for a long time.

Shit...Marshall Tuck currently leading in the CA superintendent of public instruction (basically, head of public schools) race. He’s a charter schools “reformer” (read: wants to wreck public schools) who received donations from the Walton family along with Silicon Valley billionaires and was supported by a charter school interest group that supported DeVos’ appointment.Last edited by Incandenza; 07-11-2018, 06:20.

Republican Katherine Harris and Jeb Bush rig Florida for Dubya, Dubya appoints Roberts to court, court throws out Voting Rights Act, ignores gerrymandering, rules that corporations are people too, Republicans are empowered to take their cheating to the next level.
Nancy Pelosi says it is important to be bipartisan.
Fuck's sake Democrats. At what point do the gloves come off?

Historians in fifty years from now might look back and say that the system of obstructionist checks and balances in the US stopped Trump from becoming the new Adolf Hitler. The Dems take the house and he can't pass any laws. All he can do is hope Ginsburg dies so he can stick some jock on the court.
