well the normal reason for people suddenly growing a beard is that you're putting on weight and you desperately want to restore some definition to your face. You knew that Leeds united were in trouble towards the end of Dave O'Leary's reign when Ian Harte and Harry Kewell and a few others embarked on this trick. He's just facing the problem that Homer faces when trying to de-gay bart in the John Waters episode. The Gays have shamelessly stolen all the iconography of traditional heterosexuality.

Democrats strangely competitive in South Dakota governor race too.
It's the hope that's killing. Plus the gerrymandering, of course.

Education for whom?
I'll give you voting rights, but it's not much of a right when the candidates fielded do nothing for your community.
My receipts are taken from here:
https://andrewgillum.com/about/#more-24
And a worrying paragraph....
"Andrew also helped lower violent crime in the City by more than 8 percent through increased investments in law enforcement, community policing, re-entry programs, and an expansion of social service funding."
On the subject of violent crime......
What of other stuff going on in his state?
Police Brutality?
White Supremacists picking fights with black people as a pretence to shoot them dead.
However,
"and stood up to President Trump and Governor Rick Scott to defend immigrants."
I rest my case.....

There are a bunch of non-obvious gubernatorial races.
South Dakota jumps out, where there've been only a handful of polls but they all show the Democrat within 5 points (very few show a lead)
But also Oregon, where Kate Brown, a Democrat in a relatively successful state is being chased hard by a Republican who's just been given an absolute shitload of cash by Phil Knight of Nike. Oregon's not had a Republican governor for decades, so this is weird in a supposed "blue wave" like year.
Connecticut is another traditionally Democrat state where the governor's in trouble. But that's less weird because the current Democrat governor (stepping down) is spectacularly unpopular.
Then there are Maryland, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire who all seem to have very popular, very un-Trumpy, Republican incumbents who appear to be in almost no trouble despite the anti-Republican sentiment in their states. They seem to be the gubernatorial equivalent of Manchin and Tester.

Bill Clinton and Joe Biden didn't use racist language in public, but their polices still resonate throughout the black community 25 years later.
And asking black people to vote for someone because he has a black face or is not as racist as the other guy seriously underestimates the intellect of black people.

Lots of black kids in Florida schools with underpaid teachers too. I don't know what power he has to control how the money is divvied up, but the money won't exist if he loses, and if it does it's not heading to schools with many black kids.

It's an old politician trick, make a statement so vague, anyone can hang their hat on it, but vague enough so you cannot be held accountable for broken promises come re-election day.
