    Pakistani PM survives assassination attempt

I'm so glad they have nuclear weapons.

    Oh, and

"You know, surviving an assassination attempt is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman".

Aren't the godless Pakistani Army largely shut down for Ramadan, whilst the fiercely Koranic following Taleban still open for business?

      (Hmm. On reflection, perhaps not)

Scariest country in the world in my book.

It doesn't take a genius to work out that if you cause a warhead to explode in one town or city, the neighbouring one is pretty much going to be taken out too.

What? What do you mean 'giving them ideas'? No - I'm sure the Act's powers don't stretch that far. Hang on - there's someone at the door.

Since when was the Pakistani army godless? Its motto is "Faith, piety, to strive in the path of Allah".

Well, again, the ISI was the Taleban's biggest backer in its formative years.

I can't see it like that since about 80% of the people I'm closely related to live there. Silly reason, but there it is.

I'm virtually certain that I'd feel a lot better if they were running the country.

There's been floods, bombings, tribal religious violence and turbulence aplenty in Thrusting Modern Entrepeneurial India in the past year as well. And they've got nukes too. We hear quite a bit less about it though.

Probably because they have a functioning (if imperfect) democracy, an army with no history of intervening in politics, and their religious fanatics concentrate their efforts on home-soil bararism, rather than the export variety.

Well, that depends on how you view Kashmir.

An excellent song, and Quins play the cover version by the delectable Bond before every home match.
