Is there anything that's okay, now?

Travel. Travel used to be okay. Cool, even. Go off and do that TEFL thing. But now it turns out it creates "chem-trails" (I know that's an idiot thing), and they're bad.

Tuna sandwiches. They were alright, once. The better alternative to chicken ones, because those were all in battery farms and treated like chickens in battery farms. Tuna and sweetcorn maxed out over its chicken and sweetcorn rival. Until we found out we were fishing the oceans clean of tuna. And there weren't many of the fuckers left. Oh dear.

With regard to tinned tuna, the key thing is how it's caught. Don't buy the common brands, especially John West, as they use tuna caught by fishing methods which fuck up the oceans badly, and kill loads of dolphins as well as impacting unsustainably on stocks. If you care about that stuff enough to actually pay more for the ethical alternative, buy Fish4Eva tuna instead. Your sandwich vendor probably doesn't.

How was I to know during my early teenage years that the beautiful art of self love would have such a negative impact on my eyesight?

Tuna sandwiches have never been alright. Fish is fucking minging. None of our business.

Never mind that, meat is the real deal-breaker here. Aside from all the ethical arguments, anybody consuming it in this day and age deserves some kind of medal for bravery.

It's a bit like smoking, really: I'm always a little surprised that people still do it.

It's okay to be racist again. All those people over the last few decades who told you that you couldn't be racist and it was bad for people...well they've soon shut up, haven't they?

True, it's not even casual anymore: being racist is now equated with a righteous fight against the nefarious and tyrannical. Like it's a civic duty to mock and margalise the celestial. Violence will be tolerated for the "greater good".

Wait, that's not what this thread is about. Monster Munch and other maize-based crisp have remained defiantly tasty in this every-changing world. I still believe that classical heavy-petting is a great activity of mutual understanding and promised joy.

                  3. The solitary vice

Being on a bus and no one cares what language is spoken by whom and being away from the toxic Isles for a bit. Back to being in a mono-culture tomorrow evening when i arrive in the Italian Alps but right now being in my home town is what i needed after the last few weeks....

The chances of the sound of an overdriven electric guitar 'topping the charts' must now be around 58 million to one.

(Just an excuse to get in another gripe about the current state of pop music - obviously I knew what was meant.)

I'm trying to scan this on to a verse of Reasons to be Cheerful, Part 3, but without much luck.
