    Urbis Londini in mundo optimum

Presumably some smug fecker telling anyone who'll listen why it's the best place in the world.

Tertius the brewer is almost certainly Domitius Tertius Bracearius, who is also known from a writing tablet found at Carlisle – and so by about AD85 had a business stretching the length of the new Roman territory
It always fascinates me that they can say things like "almost certainly" with this type of discovery. To me "Tertius the brewer" sounds suspiciously like the Roman equivalent of "Dave the postman".

"Oh, Dave the postman. From Sevenoaks?"

"That's the one. You know him then?"

"Yeah, everyone knows Dave the postman."

Or is it such a leap to think there could have been more than one Tertius?
