I was listening to one conspiracist who, when challenged about the Snowden-NSA leaks, replied that these conspiracies were so pervasive that leaks never happen. Unless they engineer them.

So the secret rulers of the world arranged the Snowden leaks as a distraction, against something-or-other.

Fixing a football match (or other sporting event) is one of the more plausible conspiracy theories though. It only needs relatively few people to stay quiet.
