You don't chew chocolate, you oddball

One of those questions of the day to five people in the local daily. Today's was what favorite chocolate they have and an older bloke's answer was some sort I've forgotten but it included "because it's so nice to chew"

While I'm on the topic off oddballs. A group of three started a company where they sell scented candles among other things. When asked which this years trends were, one of the replies was "snow"

I had no idea there are trends within the candle scent industry, more than that I had no idea snow has a generall smell.

Of course, chocolate may be sucked, but if it's a filled bar, or even squares, chewing would seem the done thing.

Combination of sucking / chewing to test one's patience and resolve, I think. I mean, you can suck an Aero bar quite happily, but a Mars or something is pretty much demanding a chew toward the end. But chewing straight-up chocolate seems troublesome.

Odd that, when that song came out, salty and sweet stuff was quite rare.

If it's a bar containing peanuts or what not, you bite off a bit, allow it to melt in your mouth and once you're down to the chewy bits, that's when you, well chew.

America's been doing the salty and sweet thing for ages with peanut butter and chocolate.

Why would you put nuts in chocolate? That's madness.

Uh, who doesn't chew chocolate? It would take hours to eat a chocolate bar if you just left it to melt in your mouth or whatever.

Saying that any particular foodstuff is one's favourite because it's "nice to chew" is kind of bizarre though.

I was wondering that. I suppose you 'crunch' non-chewy chocolate, but crunching is still chewing, I reckon.

Don't know. My mental ear hears Frank Muir, but I don't think it was him. Could have been Lance Percival.
