Somebody working there is currently in a twitter conversation with EIM that suggests "operational difficulties" is being somewhat economical with the truth

            Eep!

Then it appears I've posted this into the wrong thread!

So, Oktoberfest London is off, but London Oktoberfest is going strong.

"accessing the situation" is a new one for me

Is it a euphemism for "anxiously waiting for the Eurostar at St Pancras with the ticket money"?

                No.

(Check Eric's twitter feed if you want to know what is being alleged)

Are there two separate events then?

CAMRA managed a similar feat in one of the early Great North-Western Beer Festivals, scheduled to be held in Stockport circa 1986/87. They forgot the fairly basic step of applying for an alcohol licence and had to cancel at the eleventh hour.

I work about 5 minutes' walk away from the Bavarian Beer House. Might just go there instead.

                    Might not, like.
