As it is 3/14 in US, you would have thought so. That day is also Einstein's birthday.

Sadly, the pi redefined as 3 story is an urban legend.

          Although …

In 1897 the Indiana House of Representatives unanimously passed a measure (House Bill no. 246, introduced by Rep. Taylor I. Record) regarding the calculation of the area of a circle that assigned various values to pi other than 3.14. (The bill died in the state Senate.)

Today is more usually known as "Pi Approximation Day" I think, even though 22/7 is in fact a closer approximation to pi than 3.14 is.

Pi Day is out by 0.00159265358...
whereas Pi Approximation Day is only out by 0.0012644892...

But how often are dates written with full stops as separators rather than slashes?

Also, have an allusion to a Simpsons line:

My team at work use dots instead of slashes in our shared calendar thingy. Weirdoes.

It's not. But 22 / 7 is an approximation of pi.
