What's going on with these little wankers? They're everywhere. I know they're from a film, and now they have their own film. But how does that explain their cultural ubiquity? And will the combined might of a Pacific Northwest Mega-Quake, mini ice age and religious war be enough to wipe them out? I hope so, but doubt it.

Minions
I really liked Despicable Me, not just because it was funny but because it suggested that a non-traditional family could be a happy one (in him being a single dad, not in terms of him being an evil genius). But then they went all nuclear family for Despicable Me 2 so fuck the franchise and fuck the minions.

Why would you ever expect a spin-off movie about Minions to be anything other than deeply average?
Seems like WOM had poorly calibrated expectations.
You get one of the top grossing movies when your lead characters have enough captive kids that even my daughter loves them yet has never seen Dispicable Me or has any idea what they are beyond the marketing campaign.
