Yes, the road is Roosevelt Way, that follows the border on the US side.

What it's like to live there? OK I guess, though a hassle to go anywhere. There are only 1200 people, 5% of whom are in witness protection programs, allegedly. So I guess you're likely to be wondering about your neighbours.

      Winnie the Copyright Nightmare.

Italy appears to have a liberal attitude towards the use of well-known characters for kids' rides. My daughter's favourites were a duck that played the Spider-Man theme, and a slightly racist Chinese Snoopy ride that played the Knight Rider theme.

One of the things I'd noticed going midday to an IKEA store in California was that the building's blue wall exactly matched the deep royal blue of the sky above it, it was uncanny.

That view again. Just now. The iPhone doesn't do it justice, and neither does my crap camera work

Nice. I like that everyone is moving in the same direction as the plane/away from the water.

Is there an airshow nearby, or are Vulcans and Hunters still operational in the RAF?

is it a Jet Age equivalent of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight?

Some nice shots since I last had a look in.

Yes, airshow on Weston-Super-Mare seafront last Saturday & Sunday, Red Arrows etc.

Don't know about Hunters but Vulcan's are not RAF operational any more. Display purposes only. All I I know is that this will be the last season it flies. That's why I got down to W-S-M really.

Towards the end of the display, we were walking along the beach and it was flying in the opposite direction to the photo. It executed a steep climb just above our heads (the photos have a miniaturising effect, it seemed much bigger in the flesh). The sound of the engine almost made me crap myself and set off a few car alarms, within a minute it was eastward bound and has climbed almost too high to realise what it was. Wonderful stuff.

                                  It's in Manchester this weekend.

If you want mundane photo inspiration, Martin Parr is your man. Not his pictures (though they would fit in here very well), but his collection of Boring Postcards

Dog-walker's eye view, yesterday (I said it didn't need to be art). She'd just noticed a tiny chihuahua being walked towards us. Prey drive being activated.

Going against my own thread rule here, that photos are "recent". But I found this one today, actually from 2009. What our area looked like after a dust storm in the West. This would have been about 7am in Spring:

Great idea for a thread, Sits. I take photos of all manner of mundane shit so I should be able to make appropriate contributions now and again.

Been in Florida for last few weeks - here's a close up of a cats eye on the old Seven Mile bridge on the Keys.

I'd endorse that appreciation for Sits.

This thread comes at a good time for me, as I'm contemplating building a darkroom. Before going to the time and trouble though I want to be sure I resurrect an interest in photography that's been sleeping for thirty-odd years. So the first thing is to get into the habit of taking pictures again, all the time. But after they're taken, I need to put them somewhere, however temporary, so this is an ideal place. Thanks.

I'm getting kinda obsessed with the shadow. It's so bright here at the moment, there are shadows of reflected shadows (or something.) Here are a couple more:

                                                    This one is a self-portrait:
