Likewise, obviously some lovely arcades in London but Melbourne has some too, running off Collins and Bourke Streets.

Sits that link doesn’t take me to it, but yes, that is it. I bought a lovely umbrella in there as there was torrential rain during my visit.
I have a thing about arcades (not just after Walter Benjamin, I’ve always loved them), maybe I could pop some photos in here at some point.

The Strand Arcade maybe? As featured earlier in the thread: https://www.onetouchfootball.com/for...43#post2620083

Sits I stayed on the same or next block as that building in Sydney - the QT hotel on the corner of Market and George Streets. Criterion is on Pitt St.

Fine photos as always in here.

I will confess they have been slightly sharpened up for clarity, but the scenes are pretty spectacular anyway.

'Marsden View' isn't messing about. Down at the bottom of that valley we found Eastergate bridge, dating back a few hundred years to the time when wool etc. was brought by packhorse between Huddersfield and Rochdale.

Hanging out with posh folk today for a friend's birthday lunch. The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron at Kirribilli.

Despite the apocalyptic weather, the husband and I decided to plough ahead with our annual January break, heading to a windswept and rain-lashed Calderdale this year. Rain held off enough today to get out for a couple of hours strolling round our immediate vicinity. The view from Baitings Dam down the Ryburn valley is quite something. For an LGBTQ couple's holiday, seems we also have some appropriately named roads nearby...

Sometimes living here can annoy and frustrate me and dealing with certain things occasionally makes me question my choices. But then I go for a walk on a Saturday and remember that I'm also massively lucky.

Absolutely. As much as anywhere ever has for me, I think.

To complete the airport set, here are some palm trees at Lindbergh Field last night not looking terrible but not at the same level as the others

And more palm trees looking pretty with this morning’s sunrise

It is, in very stark contrast to my memories of JFK, which are that it was a shithole.
