But I really have to kick myself. I remembered yesterday, that if I'd stopped down — f22–32 — I'd have had good chance at creating a starburst on the building on the right. Darn!
I haven't used my Flickr account enough in the last couple of years, but as mentioned on the Mundane Thread Text Edition, the carnivorous plant my girlfriend gave me for Christmas caught its first couple of flies a few days ago. These are taken with the little compact rather than the big manual camera, because I don't have enough batteries lying around to get the latter to work...
Haven't posted much lately as my ancient version of Photoshop elements has declared itself unsuited to the increasingly creaky laptop, meaning I can't do a satisfactory job of re-sizing pics. Anyway - here's an unsatisfactorily re-sized shot from Blackpool Prom recently.
Meanwhile, I've been enjoying everyone else's pics, and have realised that I have a poor eye for detail - I can frame a decent landscape and take a good action pic, but I'm pretty shit on the detail of things.
Don't be hard on yourself. You've a flair for the dramatic, let it guide you. It's better to work on what you've an affinity for, than force yourself to do something that'll continually disappoint.
And the point of the thread is, put on whatever you take, whenever you like and whatever quality. Just look,at some of mine. A number are now posting some pretty professional stuff on here but it's for everyone.
Cheers lads. I do take your point AdC, but I am a lazy bastard in every facet of life, so trying different photographic styles rather than sticking to what I'm good at will be useful discipline.
