Boris Nemtsov assassinated
i suspect putin probably had something to do with this murder all right. but in a way, it doesn't matter whether he did or not, it works in his favour. some people will think he did it, which is terrifying. others will think he's being framed by dark forces, CIA-sponsored publications and the like. the general doubt and confusion if anything adds to the fear of one camp and the fury of the other.
i suppose there's also the alternative that a critical mass of people believe he is responsible, and revolt against the killing. but i can't think of any previous examples of something like that happening. terror-killings usually achieve the intended effect.
