    Saw the bombardment of Hartlepools, Whitby, & Scarborough by the German Imperial Navy - marking the only land engagement made by the British Army on UK soil in World War One.

    (The battery in the town having returned fire on the German cruisers)

      The same self-same Winston Churchill of Tonypandy and the "Marsh Arabs" fame.
