I've always taken the ACAB to mean police as an institution, individuals might be great and do their job effectively etc but the institution as a whole is corrupt.
Every single scandal seems to point to this. Because there are so many.

That terrible terrible violence in Bristol that spawned social media outrage and loads of "we support the police" memes. Yep, that was bullshit.

The filth are apparently going berserk in Bristol.

Yeah, had personal reports from Bristol over the last week. Cops have been outdoing the Met there.
(AFAB, obvs. There was some nonsense the other week after the Met attacked the Sarah Everard vigil, trying to paint the Met as special in their violence. They aren't.)Last edited by DCI Harry Batt; 27-03-2021, 08:35.

Even chief centrist David Allen Green is showing more courage than the Guardian, let alone the Bbc

Reminds me so much of Orgreave, Wapping and the Battle of the Beanfield. Obviously there are other examples.
It's always worth remembering, if one is thinking "How/when did the BBC get so bad", that they doctored their Orgreave footage to make it look like strikers initiated the violence.
TonTon, I'm not generally into posting such images. But I noticed some defence of the police on this thread, it's really those posters I'm hoping will take a look. As with Maugham and Schneider linked above, it would be nice if more 'centrist' (I do wish this word could be used descriptively, without the connotation that it's an automatic insult) types would look at the evidence and think ah, it seems I may have been wrong.

I agree, dm. I can't always watch myself, but it needs to be seen
