police Unions is about making police unprosecutable, regardless of the offence.
When I saw there was a new post I thought it was going to be about this

I saw one of those jokey "look at this crazy situation!" type videos earlier, that appears to be filmed by a guy sat inside his car in a US supermarket car park, on the phone to the police while some obviously enraged woman outside the car screams at him and attacks his closed windows with her elbow, trying to smash them, before getting in her own car and speeding off. During the filmed call, the guy who we are watching says to the police "yes, she is white". So I wondered what question he was responding to, and why they asked it.Last edited by Rogin the Armchair fan; 11-04-2021, 10:50.

Here's another one:

Poilice called to a domestic violence incident.
3 blocks away, they see a black man taking out the trash and decide to arrest him.
The lady who initially called the police comes out and informs them they have arrested the wrong guy, she is ignored.
The man the police are supposed to be looking for is white

Sporting, Lt. Nazario was ultimately released without charge, but is suing the police department (which is how the video has become public)

They never pull their taser when reaching for their gun

There was no justification for using the taser, either

I'm not sure the police spin of "the officer accidentally grabbed the gun rather than the taser" has been thought through. If police are going to accidentally kill people because they can't tell what they have on their belt, clearly the solution is for them to not have guns.

I came on here to post about the Daunte Wright case but you've beaten me to it. If "I accidentally shot my gun instead of my taser" is accepted as a valid excuse, surely that will become the go to excuse of any officer who shoots anyone ever? It's ridiculous.

Because a curfew against the very people being violently assaulted is the solution, isn't it?
