Ha, wrong thread. This would be good merchandise to put in my storefront.

How fucking incompetent do you have to be not to check fingerprints?

Seems more like Lazy than incompetant policing. It's nuts.

There was a link in that story which was really sad.

Have we reached the stage where we don't even mention this any more?

This is a big deal. Lots of outrage and some fairly significant demos met with teargas and rubber bullets. There was some vandalism and shit thrown at cop cars, but rubber bullets should be banned, FFS. I’d have thought Minneapolis was better than this. I guess not.

It's worth noting that northern suburban Minneapolis was represented by arch wingnut Michelle Bachmann, and it turns out that this is where a disproportionate portion of the police force lives (virtually none of them live in the Twin Cities themselves)

The cop with his knee on the poor bugger's throat appeared on stage with the president at a rally

I have started the stopwatch to see how long it takes for Merritt and Crump to turn up and convince the family to start talking forgiveness......

Their faces are all over the media and they're getting rude remarks every time they go out in public. Just continuing to talk about this story is causing all kinds of resentment in the community and it would be better for everyone if just we moved on from this."

The media are saying that whilst they have their PI's go through that fellows background looking for dirt.

No doubt you will have people saying if he had focused on saving his energy rather than shouting out he would still be alive today.

"There are two sides to this. Some people are saying that the police killed a man by kneeling on his neck. On the other hand, many people are saying that if only he'd complied with the calm request from the policemen, this wouldn't be an issue at all, and if only black society weren't such arseholes for resisting the lawful requests of law enforcement officers then this kind of thing wouldn't happen over and over again. I think we have to say that with such strong opposing viewpoints we can't reasonably come to a clear conclusion about what happened here, but black people really should be more careful and know their place."
