    Inappropriate metaphors on morning television

Just now on the Today show, some woman from CNBC was talking about the proposed overhaul of the US financial regulatory system and said (something close to) "hopefully this will be the enema that clears out the stock market." I was horrified.

Funny thing was, when they went back to Matt Lauer, he turned to Al Roker and said "Al, what's going to be the enema that clears out all of these storms?" and said something like "you don't expect to hear 'enema' on morning television."

I think my standing favourite (link on the old site) was that woman who said "Next. The story of a remarkable young man and his attempt to climb Mount Everest. What makes Joe Blow so special? He's gay. (Long pause.) Er blind...he's blind."
