I’m personally relieved that the order has finally gone out to destroy these medieval beheading psychopathic bastards. So is our ally Saudi Arabia who has beheaded at least 19 people in August. But not in a medieval way you understand.
Naomi Wolf's comments are beneath contempt. How the bereaved relatives of the murdered hostages must feel about her moronic and infantile insinuations is hard to imagine.
Turkey waits at the border preventing Kurds crossing in whilst previously turning a blind eye to any anti-Assad forces, the price for their involvement is the removal of Assad and the Kurds of Syria to renounce any demands for anything that would resemble a state.
It also appears that they freed hundreds of prisoners in return for their hostages.
Erdogan and Sunni Islam in action again.
Happy is the one who says he is a Sunni Turk to paraphrase a much quoted Turkish piece of propaganda.
Quote from Kayla Mueller when she worked with ISM in the occupied West Bank (I have massive respect for everyone who works with ISM, they are a superb organisation)
"Oppression greets us from all angles. Oppression wails from the soldiers radio and floats through tear gas clouds in the air. Oppression explodes with every sound bomb and sinks deeper into the heart of the mother who has lost her son. But resistance is nestled in the cracks in the wall, resistance flows from the minaret five times a day and resistance sits quietly in jail knowing its time will come again. Resistance lives in the grieving mother’s wails and resistance lives in the anger at the lies broadcasted across the globe. Though it is sometimes hard to see and even harder sometimes to harbor, resistance lives. Do not be fooled, resistance lives."
And, while I'm here, in case you missed this article, I recommend it. A long outline of how ISIS came to be and how it got so powerful. (Ignore the crappy headline, it doesn;t do the article credit at all). Thoughtful, reasoned, and balanced.
