    the picture request thread

(Strange place to ask for this I know, but I thought I'd give it a shot.)

Does anyone have a link to the black and white picture of kids playing in a terrace street with a ship being built in the background?

I found this one for you. It was originally not in B&W, but I plopped it into Paint Shop Pro and converted it for you. I also aged it a little.

The people you can see next to the ship are probably not actual children, but they're so small in the photo that I don't see why we can't just call them children at play and be happy with our find.

thats pretty cool. and probably shows why folk used to throw their hats in the air to celebrate in olden days, because they knew they could just pluck another one just the same out of the sky

inca - i think it was just they had the photo and made up a letter to fit it. it's probably funnier in my head than reality.

Oh. I don't really know what Viz is, but I've seen it mentioned on here enough to know that it's supposed to be funny, and I didn't see what was funny about that at all.

No, it's very funny. That letters page was brilliant.

I just tried, and I can't find a single person with a bare head in that photo.

And not only are they all wearing hats, but they're all the same style.

Oh for one in a bowler or, even better, a Japanese sniper cap

I wonder if hats will ever become a huge fashion item, like they were then.

Im sure i can see bowlers in that pic, theres one right at the bottom isnt there.

There is one ...and he's behind the camera. Moments later he became the most-mugged man in world history.
