    Traffic news

From the BBC local traffic news updates page:

    A3; Wisley northbound at M25, J10, Wisley

    closed
A3 Surrey - Lane closed on entry slip road northbound at the Wisley Interchange junction in Wisley, because of a shed load.
Because of a shed load of what?

The RHS garden is at Wisley, so it might be a shed load of sheds.

Clive, I hope you're being funny rather than dense.

        Funny, of course. As ever.

        *ahem*

Anyway, actually, I wonder how localised the colloquialism of "shed loads" (referring to a large amount) is? I mean, I hear it here in the South alot, but is it as common in other parts of England or even abroad at all?

"Shed loads" is just a polite way of saying "shit loads", isn't it?

Or have I got it the wrong way round and "shit loads" is a rude way of saying "shed loads"?

No, I think you're right with the first one.

A 'shed load' would be more than a 'shit load' anyway ...you'd hope.

'Shed' also means to cast off.

                So how about:

A3 Surrey - Lane closed on entry slip road northbound at the Wisley Interchange junction in Wisley, because of a shed load of shed loads of sheds.
