Have we done this Turkish coup business?

The ruling party (recently re-elected with 47% of the vote) is about to be abolished by the courts, and a prosecutor has charged 86 people with plotting a coup.

    So what's going on?

I thought the court decided yesterday that they wouldn't be abolished.

      Hmmm...

I had a look round, and found a report of a court adviser saying they shouldn't, and that a result is expected in a few weeks.

Here it is, from the Beeb.

An adviser to Turkey's Constitutional Court has recommended that it should not shut down the ruling AK Party for anti-secular activities, officials say.

In a non-binding report, Osman Can said the AKP's decision to lift a ban on Islamic headscarves had only been intended to expand freedoms, they add.

Ah, that must be what I'd half caught on the news. So the case is still pending, but "an adviser" says they shouldn't shut them down.
