    Ask a leading question ...

The Irish media evidently intend to follow the UK's previous immigration narrative by wording opinion poll questions in a particularly leading manner:

That paper is and always has been evil, and panders to the worst in instincts of their twitching curtains leadership, what did you expect?

And this is the country of direct provision and a racist citizenship referendum that got overwhelming support in the 2000s (I am well aware that the neighbours are far worse in many ways, and not just teh Brits, but that doesn't excuse shit like the 2004 ref or Mosney).

Seems like a good place to put this.

That fucking newspaper... The O'Reilly family exploited the group of profitable South African newspapers they bought in the 1990s to subsidise the loss-making Irish and UK titles. They laid off journalists and other workers, underpaid those who left, asset-stripped the enterprise, and then sold it to an obviously corrupt conglomerate that has degraded the level of journalism in South Africa even further. Fuck The Independent.

Does the awful O'Reilly gang still own that newspaper?

No the O'Reilly clan lost control to pound shop Rupert Murdoch and Ireland's most litigious man Denis O'Brien, who if anything degraded standards even further.

Now his empire of shitty radio stations and worse print media has been taken over by Dutch/Flemish group MediaHuis, whose only change to the shitshow seems to be making most of the articles on the terrible website paywalled.

The juxtaposition between this Ochone Ochone the Flower of Ireland's Youth must sail across the seas crap and the dog whistle survey below says a lot too.
