I wonder if anyone has ever responded to a mini-lecture about how the food was prepared and sourced with their own mini-lecture about the further stages of it's 'journey' that it was about to embark upon?

One of the microbiologists I worked with seemed to be particularly fond of lovingly describing the various parasites you could acquire from what you were eating, and the effects they might have on you. It was an especially good idea to flee as fast as you could if you happened to catch sight of him approaching while you were tucking into some sushi.
