    The Breakthrough Party

They've had a couple of mentions on the thread The ttraaaanzzz lyffe and TTijmes, but I thought it was worth starting something separate as some OTFers may be interested in the Breakthrough Party. It describes itself as "a new home for those determined to disrupt the failed status quo and build an alternative: a society that uses its considerable wealth to provide dignity, security and justice for all. Breakthrough is a democratic socialist party, led by the younger generations set to inherit a world in crisis." The website home page is here and their "policy platform" is:

    1. £15 real living wage
    2. Scrap zero-hours contracts and ban "fire & rehire" practices
    3. Renationalise the NHS and social care
    4. Build genuinely affordable housing, for need not profit
    5. Limit rents to 30% of local incomes and end no-fault evictions
    6. Introduce a Universal Basic Income
    7. Publicly owned utilities, transport and broadband
    8. Defend the right to protest and stand in solidarity with marginalised communities
    9. Collaborate across borders to build a global green new deal
    10. Make votes matter with proportional representation

I joined up, not done a thing yet except like and share a couple of posts. Then again, it's a youth-led party.

I like what they stand for.

I don't like their name or their color scheme, but I like all of their positions.
