Another case of the "extremely depressing there is a sense of excitement that he got convicted"
Given that Kelly filmed himself committing statutory rape and the Illinois DA still couldn't get a conviction, I can understand why folk are chuffed with today's outcome.
Meanwhile the person who Murdaugh claims he paid to shoot him was on TV this morning with his attorney. His attorney looked like he'd just walked in from a very, very heavy night on the town. The guy said "If I'd actually shot Murdaugh, he'd be dead," claiming that he was set up.
Updates: Durst has covid and is on a ventilator, so he should be gone by the end of the month.
And Murdaugh apparently coordinated with the housekeeper's family to sue his estate for her negligent death (the dogs tripped her), and then he skimmed $3 million off the settlement.
Murdaugh was arrested at an out of state rehab facility, brought back to South Carolina, and denied bail at his initial hearing - a decision more punitive than the prosecution's recommendation, which was for a quarter of a million in cash bail and an ankle bracelet.
Guns and boats and booze. It’s a story of every day life here in South Carolina. The only surprising thing is that the bloke was rescued before being shot.
The realisation that a significant percentage of the people drunk out of their minds on pontoon boats are also packing heat is rather terrifying (if unsurprising).
