Shouldn't be too difficult. He's getting on a bit now.Last edited by Nocturnal Submission; 15-02-2019, 14:48.

Looking at the 2016 GE Spanish GE results I was quite surprised to see how (relatively) popular the PP are: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_S...ngress2016.png

Not Guy Verhofstadt's best political insight (granted C's are in ALDE, but still):

No bloc would win a majority, according to the first poll:

So, of course, another company gives totally different results on the right!

The following is quite a good article:
https://www.theguardian.com/news/201...cs-gurtel-case
The most disturbing section for me goes thus;
Polls predict that no single party will be able to command a majority; the PP is on course for its worst ever result although, paradoxically, the party stands a good chance of returning to power if it forms a coalition with Vox and the centre-right party Ciudadanos, as it has done in Andalucía
A ménage à trois of the most awful kind.
In passing, for those of you who read the article/know the facts already; the five-year sentence handed out to José Luis Peñas seems excessive to me given how much he helped the prosecution case.

Also, The Guardian article which you link to seems fair enough though maybe the bit about non-native infiltrators is what irked you.
Anyway, it shouldn't be fuck Spain but fuck the Spanish establishment and Constitution. So I'm with you in your general thrust but I disagree with some of your assertions.

I'd like the police to stop blinding people. And beating them. But as they are the Spanish state's force of armed thugs, that isn't going to happen. So fuck them.
The Guardian article accepts, as you seem to do, the ridiculous idea that burning bins is violence and armed thugs beating people is not.
As for "Spain", there's a point in as much as "fuck Spain" could be misinterpreted as "fuck the people of Spain", which is not what I mean at all, of course. I'd be surprised if anyone here would misinterpret it that way, but you never know. The constitution, the government, the police, the borders, the state, the nation, but not the people.
