When all else fails, typing "OTF forum" and a thread name into a search engine brings it up.

Thanks Ursus. I'd tried everything (including DR's suggestions with the word Turkey (which I rightly thought was the thread title) or Erdogan. Nothing came up. Anyway, I don't know how you did it, but thanks

I went through 25+ pages of threads on world until it came up

FWIW, when I'm attempting to find a thread I try to recall who created it and then just search through the "Find all started topics" section of their profile.

Looking through the recent posts of someone who favours the thread that you're after is Plan B, assuming that they're not a prolific poster generally.
