Alcoholic seltzer are actually often worse than they sound. A handful are vodka based and not as terrible. But a lot are based off malt or wine fermentation, but the very cheapest end of that, which adds an extra, even nastier, undertone and aftertaste, to what was already often a pretty nasty beverage. Someone had a Truly (one of the more mainstream hard seltzer brands) iced tea, flavoured with strawberry, on the golf course the other day. The missus bought it as an experiment,.I had a taste. My god, it was grim.
