    Recipes...with links.

I made this Sriracha Honey Chicken for dinner last night and would recommend. Dead fucking easy in the slow cooker on low for 4 hours. Minimal ingredients or prep time.

The final product is really just chicken over starch, so I also pan-friend some onions and peppers and that made it much nicer. You could really augments this with whatever you want.

Had this last night. Fast becoming an easy, tasty favourite. Plus it's Ash Sarkar's recipe, so it's currently and zeitgeisty.

Mrs. Inca made this key lime pie Monday night and it's great. Just scroll through the very annoying paragraphs at the start of the page (this is the worst thing about looking at any recipe online)

Recipes online in general have 3 main problems
            1. Ridiculous numbers of pop-ups
            2. (As Inca points out) Loads of annoying lead in text
            3. Having to click between ingredients and instructions

I think the lead in rubbish is there because you can't copyright recipes, or something.

Yeah, this. I pull it up on my phone and 'screen capture' the ingredients bit and the instructions bit, and then just toggle between the two photos.

this pasta al Forno recipe is easy and tastes great. I add roasted red peppers, aubergine courgette red onion and garlic, cut them up once roasted and add to the red sauce.

The lead-in text is to keep people on the page longer to allow the author to get some income from advertising. Difficult to complain when you get the content for free. There's usually an option to click a "jump to recipe" link.

As an example, on the site of this delicious and simple dhal recipe

Some more easy Italian recipes. This website is pretty damn great, and the introductory fluff less annoying than most.

I got a pigs trotter from my butchers last week (this sounds like the start to a really bad joke) but I don't know what to do with it. Any suggestions?

Thanks for that recipe. I'll try it as I'm doing a lot of red lentil dahl these days (it's a dieting thing). Here's my current go to https://www.harighotra.co.uk/red-lentil-dhal-recipe

For thems with an Instant Pot...

I make this sausage pasta every few weeks and it's great.

It shows sliced sausage, but I get spicy Italian sausage and remove it from the casings. And I bung in much more spinach than it calls for, just because.

We have an Instant Pot but haven't used it much lately. I could never seem to get something cooked exactly right--whenever I did pasta I left it too long and it was basically falling apart.

Yeah, that used to happen when I didn't trust the cooking time in the recipe. But when it says 'set it for 2 minutes', just do it. It accounts for the pressuring-up time and so on. There certainly is a learning curve, despite what people tell you.

It's not exactly niche but I do like the bbc food website and in particular return to this once a month or so because it's dead easy and really hits the spot. Especially because I always buy onions in 2 kilo bags and then realise we've got loads left.

Slow cooker family staple - Peanut Chicken, from Scott Baptie's High Protein Handbook 4.

                                          1kg chicken
                                          1 onion, chopped
                                          2 garlic cloves, also chopped
                                          120g peanut butter
                                          1 tbsp cornflour
                                          400g chopped tomatoes
                                          1 red chilli, chopped
                                          2 tbsps lime juice
                                          2 tbsps soy sauce
                                          1 tbsp curry powder

All in, cook on low for 5 hours.

That recipe EIM put up looks well tasty, but to add to the chicken, honey and peanut combination we've just had our favourite for tea:.

I like the look of WOM's sausage pasta combination, I make a similar one with a recipe from my dog eared Nigel Slater recipe book. More onions and mustard mainly.

Another fun feature of online recipes is the comments section, which invariably features someone saying "this is great! I substituted [key ingredient featured in the recipe title] for [something completely different which would completely alter the taste].
Either that or saying it's great but then completely slagging off the quantities quoted and the cooking time.

this is my go to base sauce for curries, I add chopped carrots, celery, peppers (and whatever else is in the veg drawer), lentils and water once I've made the above, we have it just about every week. Only changes I make to her base is a teaspoon of fenugreek in with the rest of the spices, and curry leaves and whole black peppercorns fried in hot oil at the beginning along with the recipe's asafoetida and cumin.

At the other end of the authenticity scale, this unpromising looking recipe has the taste and texture of a typical chicken curry from a U.K./Ireland takeaway. Real Madeleine moment to being about 9 or 10 and watching Cheers of a Friday evening, hoovering up semi-fluorescent chicken curry and fried rice.
