    Open Arms

So Guardiola''s been wearing a top that's been promoting their message for a few weeks now. Good for him. It's a political statement though, so I would have thought that it contravenes a Premier League guideline - but apparently not?

If he's promoting this kudos to him.

"We are a non-profit non-governmental organisation with one principal mission: to protect those who try to reach Europe by sea, fleeing from armed conflict, persecution or poverty; and also to inform and educate on land so that those who migrate can make decisions with complete freedom and knowledge."

Pep might be a shill for an evil empire, but he has a conscience.

He apparently gave €130,000 to them to fund the purchase of a boat.

(Mrs Thistle asked about it during the game yesterday and looked it up.)

So does anybody know what the limits are to political support/advertising by players/managers, or are there none?

They are arbitrary and arise when enough people make a fuss.

When did saving the lives of exploited people who will otherwise drown become "politics".

Well, it's political that there aren't open borders, sadly. Given the generally reactionary nature of sports institutions, I'm pleased, and a little surprised, to see no fuss about Guardiola's support.

I'm sure he'll get booed at Millwall and subjected to a chant of "Let them drown, let them drown, let them drown".
