Over twenty years ago I finally got round to my English degree and my dissertation was based on a Beat related Kerouac/Ginsberg Idea. At one stage, more in hope than expectation, I emailed City Lights bookshop in San Francisco to see if anyone could validate a couple of anecdotes I had come across and added other questions. To my amazement it was Ferlinghetti himself who responded in some detail.
