      Happy St Brigid's Day!

Any tradition trying to pass 1 February off as the beginning of Spring is having a laugh, frankly.

(it isn't, it's half-way between the solstice and the equinox)

The beginning of Spring angle seems to be mentioned quite prominently in most explanations of Imbolc/Brigid's Day.

Maybe I should lay off the aftershave before lunchtime.

            "Buffalo-scented" - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Almost certainly part of Brian Fantana's collection.

So are you going to tell us your girlfriend's name or not?

My vague memory of Pagan Man was that it came in a bottle shaped like a flint tool, so the reality is slightly disappointing.

Pleasingly, there is a modern fragrance, Neandertal, which delivers on that front. It costs a bracing 210 pounds for 90ml. In the old days, that would have bought a decent family cave and a mammoth supper for four with change left over for the bus home.

Oh, yes. Yes, yes, yes. I thought that was a bottle of the stuff perched on a plinth but now I see that the whole thing is pong disguised as a lump of anthracite.
