        Jack Kirby trending on Twitter as his son has put out a statement denouncing the use of Captain America's shield etc. by the coup twats, saying his father would be less than impressed.

                Quite fitting that Trump spent a lot of his 2016 campaign reading a different version of the scorpion and the frog fable at the rallies (instead about a woman and snake, as a way to attack immigrants)

                    That seems a dangerous game given the incriminating info Rudi must have on Trump.

                        It's definitely a roll of the dice, but he has been spending all of his time at the tables for a while now.

                        Stiffing his lawyers is one of the genuine touchstones of Donald's life. He has always done it, from his early days in Queens, and it was the initial reason why no leading New York firm would touch him even back in his "prime".

                        Rudy definitely knows stuff, but faces two serious complications. First, he is (and always been) a notoriously unreliable witness who lies when he breathes. Without significant corroboration from documents and more honest witnesses his testimony wouldn't be worth that much. More importantly, he is almost certainly also guilty of all of the crimes he has knowledge of. Which means that he needs a prosecutor to offer him immunity in return for his testimony. I wouldn't bet the house on that given the fact that there are plenty of other ways to sufficiently prove the state crimes that Trump is most likely to go down for and (perhaps most importantly) that virtually everyone with a say hates his guts and would relish his doing time.

                              I find it remarkable how easy is to get away with this sort of thing for an extended period of time. I kind of assumed there was an informal legal/financial advisory firm blacklist, but one guy I covered filed or provoked dozens of lawsuits, never paid the lawyers (or the court ordered costs of the other side), and yet was still finding people to represent him for over a year until he was declared bankrupt for not paying his taxes. Admittedly he is now in jail, indirectly for not paying one set of lawyers, but you'd think word would get around quicker, or there'd be some sort of due diligence.

                                  There are always guys (virtually always men) with law degrees who are willing to do the work for a while for the "exposure" and "connections" and/or a sense that they can live with getting something like a quarter of their original bill after protracted haggling.

                                  It is a plague on the profession and virtually always leads to lousy lawyering.

                                    The only top tier bank

                                    It may be even more striking that he has also been cut loose by small banks in New York and New Jersey who have traditionally been less picky about their clients.

                                        Fully expecting a Trump loan to turn up at my former employers credit committee some time soon.

                                            It's amusing how the far right whines about Holocaust education being forced on kids when you realize that kids leave school with absolutely no knowledge of even in which decade it took place.

                                              I've been invited to a talk at work by one of the last Holocaust survivors. She was born in Auschwitz in 1945 shortly before it was liberated, making her 75-76 now. That guy does not look that old.

                                                  There's also the fear of pissing off a major client who then not only refuses to pay the bills, but takes their work elsewhere, so the firm puts up with huge amounts of crap from them.

                                                    Just read this in a BBC piece;

                                                    "Another Republican has said he and several colleagues have purchased body armour and have been forced to change their normal routines after receiving threats of violence.

                                                    "It's sad that we have to get to that point, but you know our expectation is that someone may try to kill us," Michigan Republican Peter Meijer told MSNBC on Thursday."

                                                    I mean, fucking hell.
