Styracosaur. Although I like the post-Jurassic World suggestion that Velociraptors may well have been charging around like really, really scary versions of Big Bird.

I'm quite partial to a parasaurolophus, but mostly because I am exceptionally pleased with myself for learning how to pronounce it.

Not very high, he hasn't got any fingers.

Following Janik's lead, I'll go with herring gull.

Having done some googling (and excluding birds), I have to say that purely based on it's name my new favourite dinosaur is Irritator.

Though Khaan runs it a very close second.

We recently visited a place near here where they found a bunch of dinosaur bones. The best name we learned from them is the magyarosaurus dacus which manages to cover both the Hungarian and Romanian aspects of Transylvania

Kosomceratops for me. It's like a Triceratops, only frillier.

I also like the pachycephalosauraus, the hard-headed dinosaur. Partly for its name, partly because I saw the skull in a museum in Oxfordshire and it looks cool, partly because it was my nephew's favourite dinosaur when he was 4, and I was impressed that he could pronounce it then.

I'll have Ankylosaurus, with its tail club:

edit: just saw that PT already bagged Ankylosaurus on the parent thread. Oh well...

Iguanodon - but only because we have a lump of Iguanodon fossil sitting on our bathroom windowsill

I only recently learned that dinosaur is a specific taxonomy and doesn’t refer to many kinds of ancient reptiles.

I did a four sentence illustrated report on ankylosaurus in second grade. Back then, we were told they were ancient reptiles. But true dinosaurs were (very, very) ancient birds.

I would have said triceratops, but Ian has me thinking now.

Kosmo is too extra for me

I also sort of believe that this should be limited to those one knew of when one formed the preference, but that's just me.
