I have (the use of) an i-phone. No idea which number it is, but it was issued to me by my employer around a year ago I think.

When I press the "photos" icon, it brings up a collection of images that includes not only the few photos that I occasionally take myself, but also the far greater number of images posted by other people to any WhatsApp group that I'm a member of, over 99 per cent of which is stuff which I don't want to keep. Is it possible to change some kind of setting on my phone so that such images don't get saved to my photos collection?

How to Stop WhatsApp Saving to Your Camera Roll

1. Launch the WhatsApp app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the Settings icon (the small cog wheel) at the bottom right of the screen.
3. Tap Chat Settings.
4. Toggle off the Save Incoming Media option so that it no longer shows as green
