Votes for sale!
Well not exactly but. My politics are I daresay much cloudier than many here but sit very much to the left of the party who I joined because Corbyn basically, in the hope that in him more than anyone else from the mainstream lay the, well, the momentum for the change without which my kids don't have a chance in hell of having any sort of a future. I'm far from being an activist though and while I'm one of those who mostly lurks here while being eternally grateful for being able to read what you have to say as well as for the various links that many of you (Nef especially obvs) post I got barely a third of the way through reading the list of prospective candidates to the NEC before my mind started to wander, though I was certainly swayed by Gemma Bolton who also helped herself no end by suggesting also who else she thinks I should vote for.
Anyway in spite of the fact I despair at the way things are going within the party, for reasons I can't fully explain to myself I'm not going to simply vote and leave, or even just cancel my direct debit, I'm going to vote and see how things go, so.. Nef, JohnR, MsD, Sean (a list from the top of my head rather than being meant in any way exclusively) would any of you care to say where, given the above, you think my votes should be going
Thank you!.

The trouble is these are the people setting the agenda and humane acts of support and resistance are too easily smeared without question.
Maybe I'll return to the clothes thread
it's just struck me that Havodah - the Israeli Labor Party. (the party that Jewish Labour Movement sees itself as its sister party in Israel) is in coallition with Netanyahu

Artificial Hipster i went for the six mentioned here.

I put Ann Henderson last as there are concerns that she’s on the transphobic side. I just reasoned that if those of us on the left pick the same candidates we have more chance of getting them in.

I've said this before, but my dad was working in the hospital ED when the victims of the Birmingham pub bombings were brought in. He always said that someone knew who planted those bombs and those killed and maimed never got justice.

Steer Calmer will likely back Julie Hambledon's campaign for a Public Enquiry, knowing full well that it's likelihood of exposing said cover up is close to zero

I thought someone confessed to the Birmingham bombings, but didn't know they were dead.
I had a relationship with a firefighter in the West Midlands and we had a furious row because he was convinced the Six were guilty, (this was after their release) his argument just being the emotive stuff about the terrible state of the victims as witnessed by emergency services, "you wouldn't think that if you saw a pregnant woman screaming with her leg sliced off' sort of thing.
And yes, those victims should have got justice.

It was before major incident drills and nobody offered counselling to emergency personnel afterwards in those days.
For all that the right people should have been punished, that hasn't often been an emphasis in the discussions.

Two Labour councillors resign in Bridport over the direction of the Party. Somehow, I think 12 months ago this would have been on the homepage of the Guardian. https://www.bridportnews.co.uk/news/...-labour-party/

The search function means I can't find the Corbyn thread but Labour's Islington North facebook page remains loyal to its MP.
