Thank you all for your kind thoughts.

Erm, I hadn't meant for this to be a downbeat thread, it was more just me musing on the idea of not working again. We had a Teams meeting this afternoon, and the MD is confident that we shall be in a position to start-up again after this is all over, so hopefully this isn't my last few minutes of work. (Which, obviously, I'm not actually doing at this very moment...)

    Once again, thank you all.

Not much to say except to add to the commiserations and expressions of good luck.

Think computer programmers of any age will be in demand for the next few years (ensuring that everyone else is out of a job, but never mind that for the moment)

That is tough. I trust you’ll find a way through.

Dunno if you're at the stay where you'll welcome well meaning but totally inappropriate suggestions, but there might be a bit of a market for computer experts of a certain age helping domestic clients of a certain age with their IT; older persons might be a bit uncomfortable with allowing young people with dyed hair and - ugh - piercings into their home.

Best of luck, GO. Try to keep a positive outlook (so you don't get those worry wrinkles on your forehead).

Thanks again all. And my piercing is, sadly, healing...

                              Stick a pin in it.

Best of luck GO. On a vague plus side, there will be IT work in London when there is no work anywhere else.
