    UPDATE

An Aberdeen FC player has tested positive for coronavirus, so you would imagine that Saturday’s Premiership meeting with St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park is now under threat.

Sorry to hear this. Not a huge surprise but still disconcerting for everyone who wants some football to be played in their regions this season. If it can happen in Scotland, whose policies have been relatively sound, it will obviously happen in England, assuming that enough testing is going to take place to identify hot spots.

My doctor's advice was to keep monitoring. If you have had a mild case it's possible that symptoms will recur or get worse. So
Thanks. Somehow this manages to simultaneously be an actual thanks and a sarcastic thanks

The Gambia now has more than 800 cases, and jumped over 260 cases in two days so it seems there's quite an outbreak there.

No names officially, and frankly I wouldn't expect the club to name and shame.
A couple of the first team squad were allegedly spotted out in town on Saturday night, but I wouldn't like to speculate.
That's for the Pie & Bovril website.

The UK government adds Andorra, Bahamas and Belgium to the quarantine list.

The biscuits ran out at 3pm but tomorrow when the committee reconvenes they'll crack on with the Cs, Ds and Es.

Those lists are odd, a few days ago Belgium banned its citizen to visit some parts of Switzerland, which caused a bit of a stir...I still can't believe the UK is not on every European country red list btw

Doesn't sound like a great idea.

It appears increasingly likely that a regional lockdown will be applied to the Midlands (Kildare, Laois, Offaly).

Aberdeen FC being hung out to dry by the First Minister. She's ragin'.

People with holidays booked in Zimbabwe are probably safe for a few more weeks then.

Nah, those places have had all sorts of safeguards put in place. Their problem is that loads of the workers live together. This is one of those areas that really needed to be regulated in the past, and is abundantly clear that it has to be dealt with now. The same with direct provision centres. The problem that we seem to have is that the numbers of people living in multi household residences is rocketing in the accommodation crisis. That's not great.

Two other areas where it has become abundantly obvious that they need to be properly addressed are to do with care homes, who were completely unprepared for this, and incapable of coping, similarly it has become abundantly clear that something has to be done to sort out the rights and conditions of migrant agricultural labourers.

Meat processing and migrant agricultural labour have been in desperate need of reform in this country for over a century now.

The lady who gave me a haircut the other day also worked in a care home. At the start of the pandemic they had just a tiny amount of PPE and they would hang the few they had outside rooms for anyone who went in to use...She was fully aware how fucked up this thing was.
