    I’d have thought of New Jersey as the pizza state, but I can see why Connecticut claims it.

      New Jersey did have this famous landmark


      and was home to wise guys who sold mozzarella to Connecticut at "interesting" prices, but really is no match on quality

        I just discovered that Pepe's has an outlet in Burlington, MA, not much more than 10 miles from here as the crow flies. I'm sure it's good, but also sure it's not as good as the real thing.

        Pepe's seemed a little more open to actually serving people than Sal's did.

          I just think of New Jersey as the homeland for the stereotypical pizzeria and the kind of people who eat there.

          I’m sure there are many great pizza places in New Jersey, but I haven’t been to any of the ones I’ve seen on the best-of lists.
