    I've lost track.

Solidarity is the newer name for the SP's "Anti-Austerity Alliance"? The SP in Ireland is no longer associated with the SP in England & Wales? PBP is the SWM (still associated with the British SWP) equivalent of the AAA? The SWM doesn't do anything in its own name any more but only as part of PBP?

Murphy was SP? He left when the SP split internationally BUT he went off to do his own thing instead of being part of what is now "Militant Left" (which is associated with the SP in England & Wales)?

Have I got all that right?

Yes, Solidarity is the new name for the Socialist Party, which then became the United Left Alliance, and then the Anti-Austerity Alliance, while PBP were the SWP, and briefly part of both the ULA and AAA, and Eamonn McCann's NI section was formerly called SEA.

      Paul Murphy's political history:

      2011-10: Socialist Party
      2010-13: United Left Alliance
      2013-19: Anti-Austerity Alliance
      2019-21: RISE
      2021- PBP

This should be good - John McGuirk is going to discuss the rise of the far right on Prime Time tonight (for our British friends, think a poor man's Brendan O'Neill).

Yeah, that's the RTE way, give them the oxygen of publicity they don't deserve because of their numbers.

The Green Party TD Patrick Costello is taking a High Court case concerning the constitutionality of CETA, particularly the Investor Court System provision:

In truth, it's hard to see why it would trigger a referendum when say, the International Criminal Court did not, but the case precedent will be intriguing.

                            Even less probable now:

Is there an expectation that Labour and SDs will continue as separate parties for ever? Are they different?

Not really that different, but the Labour Party will see themselves as the senior partners and will expect the recalcitrant rebels to come crawling back, and that's not going to happen.

Sure. Maybe if SDs take a couple more seats of theirs or something.

That, and a few of the Soc Dem TDs (Cairns, Gannon, Whitmore) were never members of Labour in the first place, so they and much of the grassroots see it as a permanent project - if they ever got into double figures TD-wise, that's when the inevitable compromises and pressure to enter government would begin.

The Soc Dems are the wing of the labour party that doesn't want to be in government. They'll say a few nice things, but ultimately are completely fucking useless.

Cian O'Callaghan would probably be in the aaa-PBP if it wasn't for all their red hot #metoo action.

I don't know how you can put any faith in a party led by Alan Kelly tbh, he's as amoral and nasty and ultimately useless as Varadkar. Also you're probably the youngest Labour supporter left, they are fucked.
