In fairness, when people are looking at other countries (naming no names) Varadkar and Harris looked competent and statesmanlike .

Yep, the same effect probably also contributing to Sturgeon's high ratings even with Unionists (despite Scotland only doing marginally better than England).

Any chance of this rotten stitch-up being rejecting by the Greens' membership?

TT- I'm no longer a member in Ireland (though still supportive) but instinctively I'd say there's a 40-60 poss the membership will reject it

              Fingers crossed.

One interesting point of note is that the NI Greens are full members of the Irish Green Party, and accordingly have equal voting rights over the deal - indeed, Clare Bailey was one of the abstainers at last night's parliamentary party meeting.

So is the "parliamentary party" a single body including members of the Irish parliament and of the Legislative Assembly?

Yes - also the two Irish MEPs elected last year.

Thanks. How many abstained in total? Any actually vote against?

I see some people aren't really suited for the ins and outs of multi party coalitions. We have those people here too sadly.

Four out of thirteen abstained, including the husband of the deputy leader. No-one was likely to vote against at the start, more likely to save their energy for the campaigning over the next week.

Meanwhile, the FF ginger group is big in Novosibirsk:

I can't see too many circumstances where either side of this 'row' is going to be hiring bots. This vote isn't going to be decided by people who know anything about social media. So I suppose it's a big hello to Vladimir and his boys. Quite frankly we don't need your help, and you'll only get hurt if you intervene

Fair to say that Paul Murphy easily comes out best from the FaceApp treatment:

If we are to have another election, wouldn't it make sense to have postal ballots for all?

                                        Probably

Dion Fanning would be interviewing the shit out of Paula Murphy, like she had something to say, and Fionnan Sheehan would be praising her passionate oratory and her youthful enthusiasm.

I'll ask her- at the forthcoming Conference I mentioned above. Until then I'm guessing that she thinks what FG and FF are like now and predictably into the future is more important than what SF were like 25 or 50 years ago
