                          Mary Lou:

                          Tá 45
                          Níl 84

29 abstentions, so she theoretically could get to 74 votes.

Eamon Ryan just gets the Greens' own 12 votes, with 115 against, and 28 abstentions.

ML's 45 now doesn't seem so bad if Micheal can't swing the Indos either.

The Greens appear to have actively voted against her - which sets up an FF-FG-Green alliance.

Heh, so it's all just a play until Eamon Does The Decent Thing (and destroys his party for the sake of a few years in Gov, and maybe one good policy outcome, but def not housing).

Or another election. FG big house grassroots look like pitchforking anyone who says they should coalesce with their more déclassé right wing twin.

He may be Acting Taoiseach for quite some time.

The Greens and Soc Dems are the subject of much online criticism for not voting for McDonald yesterday - would have been premature to row in before talks have concluded, though of course, if either enter coalition with FF and FG, then the flak will be entirely justified, given left transfers were pivotal to seat numbers.

Meanwhile, the Garda Commissioner, Drew Harris, agrees with the PSNI assessment that both Sinn Féin and the IRA remain under the control of the Army Council.

Well we don't have to worry about reports that sinn Fein negotiators having to leave the room every five minutes looking to get approval from the coterie of aging senior republican figures. Gerry is going to be in the room with them.

The last one seems dubious anyway, 40% of Solidarity PBP voters were FF/FG in 2016

Of course, when that overall figure is 2.5%, you're looking at fractions of support levels from the larger parties.
