These new all-singing all-dancing weighing scales have added two kilos. I'm going to bury my head and stick with the old ones. 94.6 KG (a bad week. I ended up taking birthday cake into work to get rid of it).

Can't see anything wrong with that plan.
No more tales of the scales from me until I dip below the 13st mark.
Finally got there - 12st 13lbs this morning.
A modest achievement with possibly the sole benefit of taking up less room in the plague pit!

80.2 kgs this morning. I had hoped yesterday's Relay for Life cancer run (well, stagger) and the accompanying dehydration would have pushed my under 80, but not to be ... Since then I had a decent sized lunch (body crying out for sustenance) so I suspect getting to sub 80 may take a while.

It's fair to say events have detailed my plan...(two more people in house, they eat nothing but junk and if we want to eat together, buttered bread and chips are obligatory)
Wife and I are staging an intervention on ourselves...

Well, great effort on the BMI front, GO. Don't be tempted to relapse just because of the current situation re. elective surgery. You never know when they'll be able to schedule your operation.

My weight loss efforts have gone completely tits up. I'm not going to slimming world or the gym (non-essential social mixing activities, plus unnecessary expense when we've got severely reduced income) and all my motivation has gone straight out the window. I'm managing stress with chocolate and have slightly got the mindset that we might be stuck inside on rations so what's the point in losing weight now? I know none of this is rational and I should still look after my health, it's just not happening.

I have managed to lose a stone since the beginning of Feb.
I went from a touch under 15 stone (due to overeating on work trips to Florida and Toronto).
I am now down to 13 stone 12 (194lb). this is due to:
Drinking alot of water (you would be surprised how often feelings of thirst are similar to feelings of hunger)
Meal prepping. I have made sure i have at least half a down meals in the freezer at all times. This has eliminated bad snacking and eating takeaways when feeling hungry.
Cooking all my own meals. When you know what's in your food, its easier to manage your food intake.
Lots of heavy weights. This forces my body to metabolise fat instead of muscle as the weights forces your body to keep the muscle.
I have also been really pushing the running and got my three mile run from 25 and a half minutes to 21 and a half minutes. My tight hamstrings and calf are stopping me going faster.
As it is my birthday today, I have managed to rep my age on the Squats and now my quads and glutes are on fire.
I might post up the video if I get the time.
Just realised I can't post the video up here so left it on my Instagram. 60KG for 47 reps. Don't try this at home.Last edited by Tactical Genius; 18-03-2020, 13:42.

This could be an interesting thread to follow over the next few months!
I've managed to keep below 13st since I dropped under that mark about a week-and-a-half ago and, with the weather a lot better than it has been, I'm hoping that a lot of garden work, along with a long power walk as my official piece of exercise for the day, will see it continue to fall .

I am nervous of the scales as I know i have been eating more than I should and doing nothing to compensate for it.
At school I can avoid eating by not having food there (a few bits of fruit and a couple of nut bars get me through the day - too busy to eat otherwise) but at home I am surrounded by the stuff and - though still busy setting up distance learning - it isn't the sort of high ension, constant stress, moving about sort of affair that teaching is. Typically, in a class, the only time I sit at desk is to take the roll. Other wise, I'm constantly moving. Here, I could easily devolve into a blob.
Also need to go back to the weights and the exercycle.
Grrrr.

I wish I had invested in a static bicycle back in the day! I could try running on the spot but my joints won't take the pounding. Still, I don't appear to be binge eating though I do admit that I'm drinking a wee bit more wine than usual.

The combination of a lower back muscle pull last week and scoffing chocolate due to boredom/heightened inactivity wont be doing me any favours. Still ok for walking slowly with the hound, and no pain when I sit - just the transition movements are a bit uncomfortable still - but can’t wait ‘til it eases off and I can get back to normal cardio/strength/stretch exercises.

Just went for a run for the first time possibly ever. So not my sport... but all of those are not possible at the moment. Also very aware of a BMI of 27 or so, which is a minor but real factor in survival chances (and not just COVID-19 ones). Only about 1 mile for a first go, but with some hills in it (carefully placed at the start of the course). Did it in 8m51, no stops along the way apart from making space for a woman and a dog. Clearly I need a longer course in future.
Now to grab a shower and head back to work.

I would love to do 60KG for 47 reps right now. Because of my own stupidity not just biting the bullet earlier I am going to have to wait another two weeks before my squat rack, barbell, bench and about 400lb in bumpers arrive.
Decided not to cheap it out and went 100% Rogue Fitness. My wife is not going to be best pleased.

Instagram only has a minute on vidoes so you don't see the full 47. you might not be impressed with my gym attire and my game face.
