People think Lingo's a knock-off of Wordle but it's the other way round - this is from 1987:

My extended time in that country coincided with both language lessons, and a person who refused to speak English, and rightly so (language teacher, not the best). She was off one day, and the replacement teacher was utterly brilliant. There's 5 in the class, 4 Spanish speakers from South America, and me. The teacher did a quick test to see who knew what, in Dutch. When it turns out we are not as far along as we should be, and I'm a fucking swot, she started to explain, in English and Spanish, where we were going wrong. After about 2 hours, I could actually form a sentence in my head, whilst answering another person.

She was my god! And of course, her best and most important tip is always watch the TV in the country of your chosen language, with subtitles.

I watched 'Lingo' for fucking years after I left that place. Aside from "Man Bijt Hond" (think "That's Life", without an audience), it's a perfect show. You know you are going to win fuck all before you get there, so you dress up, and have this statuesque blonde interrogate you, gracefully, for 30 minutes, whilst you forget to spell your own language. Brilliant! (Yes, the UK tried it. But without the laughs.)

Okay, apologies if that came across as a bit dismissive. It wasn't meant to, and no offence was intended.

I really don't know your personal music taste, however, so it's unlikely I'd specifically have picked you up on it. Like most on here, I just comment as I find: we all like different stuff - particularly in terms of music. (If I were offended by somebody saying 'oh, Jesus, that's crap' to something I like, I'd have left OTF yonks ago.)

I'm probably alone in not getting this.

If you write 1/2 in a cell in excel, it will auto "correct" to a date. It seems to autocorrect pretty much everything to a date in fact (and assumes you write dates in the American order, to boot)
