My planned jaunt to Hamburg next April, to take in the cultural delights of the Reeperbahn, consume nothing but currywurst and beer for 48 hours then pay a visit to the most famous minigolf course toilet in OTFdom, is sadly cancelled. Ryanair have just announced they're cancelling the Saturday flights we'd booked from Manchester next year (and their Friday flights, too, so we can't come earlier). Oh well. We've had to cancel the cruise home from Hamburg too. Maybe one day we'll make it ...

Return train travel in the UK from the North West to any other airport that goes to Hamburg would cost more and be logistically more impossible than flying to and staying in Hamburg in the first place.
