You've got to almost admire the brazenness of what the Tories are doing with Google, Twitter etc.

It's a genuinely excellent manifesto. I am not sure they would be able to raise the money they need for it from billionaires and massive corporations but I approve of someone making an effort.

The Dutch Tories (VVD) had google ads in 2015 for the local elections entitled "Election Voting Guide" (Stemwijzer) which appeared to be the official voting guide (Stemwijzer) offered by a well known impartial institute. But when you clicked on the link, it took you to the VVD website. I know, because it happened to me.

Anyway, I screenshotted their misleading crap and complained to the advertising standards board in the Netherlands. The head of the board threw out my complaint. I had to appeal and pay a 50 euro fee. I won and got the 50 euros back.

So both Corbyn and Johnson are right, depending on how you want to look at it.
Anti-Corbyn people wanted to look at it as though Corbyn was deliberately emphasising Epstein's Jewishness and Otherness, as though he'd said "The Monstrous but not Atypical Jew, Jeffrey Epstein".

Adam Boulton objecting to Corbyn’s use of a neruda quote is a glorious vision of English provincialism

Not that it matters at all, but both the "steen" and "stine" pronunciations of Epstein co-exist here, with the first being much more common. Virtually no one who is born here uses the German "scht", though.

The number of latent antisemites who don't know Epstein is a Ashkenazic surname but would if you pronounced it like you're auditioning for Fiddler On The Roof is precisely zero. This is the 2nd dumbest attack yet*, coming in above "Corbyn is an antisemite for going to a Jewdas seder".

It's like saying you're othering Trump's new favourite war criminal Eddie Gallagher by saying his surname like Irish people would. It's absurd.

*Unfortunately the dumbest came yesterday too, when Rabbi Zvi Solomons claimed Corbyn was an antisemite by giving BoJo a copy of A Christmas Carol, because of Fagin in Oliver Twist.

Looks a fine manifesto, though I'd slap more tax on anyone over £60k to be honest

The one with whom I have a mutual friend. Wary of mentioning her name as I got threatened and try-doxed on Twitter and Facebook last time, and was accused of bullying someone with MH issues.

I'd hope she gets sued for infringement of copyright and libel, but she doesn't have any money (had to crowdfund her rent).

I think it's best to ignore all Rachel Riley-related stramashery, to be honest. Would rather talk manifestos

My favourite pledge is probably the one where I get the franchise, which is nice as I've lived here for 12 fucking years now and even if I decided to spend £1300 on the first day I was eligible on a passport which is about to lose a fuckload of its value, I probably still wouldn't have one yet.

But the Cricket World Cup one is pretty good too. I'd love the Rugby World Cup to be Category A too. It's always been on free-to-air, but I wonder just how long that will last.

I'm surprised Johnson agreed to the one held this week. Reality about his limitations must have finally dawned.
