Well I was clicking on the 'scores and fixtures' updates after the match and that's my saved link so clicked on the same this morning: fuck all. If they didn't link the story to the match/score that just proves my point. And if I wanted live commentary I'd listen to it. I just wanted score and news updates and it was sadly lacking.
By contrast, Bananarama conference games always have a match report and 'Sutton now two points clear' updates- it was shite coverage last week and this and I'm not having it.

I know we’ve seen a lot from Laura Kuennsberg but this is genuinely jaw dropping in its sycophancy

some gems from the bbc chief political editor who received at least 300k fa year or this
First, the benign interpretation of how the PM operates. One insider who knows him well says it is simply "unfair and easy to cry 'liar', as the opposition has done".
"He's far more complex and strategic and people don't give him credit for how calculating and clever he is."
Another source told me Mr Johnson has a "genuinely selective memory" and that "'I choose to remember certain things or not remember others'" is his default way of dealing with the pressures of life at No 10.Even his worst enemy would acknowledge that he is a skilled wordsmith, and he regularly uses his vast range of sometimes nonsensical vocabulary to deflect, to entertain, or even ridicule. It's certainly not unusual for politicians to try to avoid answering questions that would cast them or their parties in a less than flattering light.
One of the PM's strategies, however, seems to be to bamboozle the listener with a blizzard of verbiage, suggesting agreement, but not committing to anything. Former colleagues suggest that by the time they have decoded what he actually meant, the conversation's over.Last edited by Nefertiti2; 02-05-2021, 07:42.

Laura Kuennsberg 2016 winning the journalist of the year award. About time suggestions she was biased were dismissed as sexism
Among the many jewels and gifts that the BBC has is our editorial independence which we get because people participate in us,” she said.
“Everybody has to be part of the BBC because everybody has to pay for it. That is our precious jewel and I guard nothing more important than our impartiality.
“At the Beeb we know we’ve got responsibility to be there for everyone and that’s why we’re there.
“I was a BBC trainee so if you cut me in half I’d have the whole thing through me like a stick of rock.
“I would die in a ditch for the impartiality of the BBC. That’s what we do. And if you go to any country around the world they would say that we were lucky to have it and of course I agree.”

None of the Scottish League play-offs yet 'up' on the BBC 'scores and fixtures' tab for the next week. I know who VVVenlo are playing tho...
(Used to shop in Venlo, so- fine).
While I'm ranting: ONLY PSG games in Ligue 1 (not Lille's, oh no) get you a link to the table; similarly only Bayern...and Juve's despite being 5th or 6th recently. It's as if they WANT a superleague....

Was listening to Radio 4 on Sunday while painting and they went to do a vox pop for reaction to the Scottish elections....to Berwick.
Mind you it did allow a view I hear quite often from leftie Geordies to be aired 'can they move the border to Hadrian's Wall so we can come?'

I'd still miss the cut, by less than a mile...
That was however quite a regular thing in the run up to the last referendum, news crews in Carlisle, vox pops on Scotch Street, speculation about border controls, quick shot of traffic whizzing past the Welcome to Scotland sign and then onto the blacksmiths at Gretna with the saltire flying above it to interview a local politician. This stuff writes itself for lazy journalists.

Definitely lazy but also meant that the Scottish people they did allow to speak were from a region that votes Tory/no.
Almost as lazy as the classic brexit/election voxpops meeting 'ordinary people' running market stalls- why aren't ordinary people council workers any more?
